Solartron Metrology provides multiple solutions for the gauging of automotive components.

Laser Triangulation Sensors for Automotive Applications

The high-end lasers from Solartron (LT1 and the LT2) have the capability to 'scan', enabling measurements whilst moving, which is useful in applications such as testing the smoothness of cylindrical objects. As an example, this allows for cylindricity quality control of EV motor shafts.

Additionally, the height of a fly wheel can be determined quickly and easily, with either 2 or 10 mm measurement ranges using our non-contact lasers.

Depth measurements are also made easy with the Orbit LT, allowing to check the tyre tread post-production, with up to 4kHz sampling speed.
