Millions of Cycles
Flatness and curvature measurements of a turbine blade are critical to the quality and longevity of a fully functioning aircraft. Solartron Metrology’s Standard Digital pencil probes are the perfect solution for jet engine turbine blade gauging. Digital standard probes are rightfully known as the workhorse of the industry, possessing excellent resolution, excellent linearity, high data speed, and long-life precision bearings, allowing for the probes to maintain high-performance for millions of cycles.
Non-Contact
Laser Triangulation sensors can serve a similar purpose. For surfaces where contact is not feasible, the compact and precise Orbit LT laser allows for easy scanning which works with adaptive surface adjustment to produce precise and repeatable results. Especially effective on shiny, reflective surfaces, the Laser Triangulation Sensor's compact size lets the operator measure an awkward or tight space without marring delicate surfaces.
The Orbit® Network
For output of digital sensor readings, Solartron Metrology utilizes the Orbit® Network. With Orbit, you can link up to 250 sensors on one modular stack, and then output to a PC, PLC, or Readout. This includes contact, non-contact, and 3rd party sensors. Readings can be output at up to 3906 readings, per module, per second.
For PLC, Orbit offers multiple gateways to Profinet®, Ethernet/IP®, EtherCAT®, CC-Link®, and Modbus based PLCs.
For PC, Solartron offers software drivers, so that Orbit can be linked into almost any SPC software.
Analysis of Collected Data
For large, complex applications, Solartron also offers Orbit Gauge Software 4.0. This powerful tool can be used for networking hundreds of measurement points, and easily outputting data in various SPC formats. Included in the software package are sequencing functions, handshaking for automation, as well as pre-loaded formulas. With this package, customers can take on the most complex of applications.
